Xen Upload Iso to Local Iso Sr
Y'all create a ISO repository on the xenserver its self, or a file server and attach it much the same way.

Certain.
Add together storage in XenCenter, and and then you'll have two types of ISO storage repos that can exist connected: CIFS (Windows) and NFS.
Identify your ISOs in whichever repo (if not already there).
Bazinga.

I was not get-go postal service!!! :(

Once you have the repo built, you can connect to your xen server and browse to the directory using WinSCP.

I similar to use FreeNAS to host my ISO's.
The process to connect to an NFS ISO repository is:
- Right click pool
- Create SR - NFS ISO - Proper name it
- NAS ip address:/mount (in my case ip:/mnt/Data) don't forget example sensitive
CIFS is almost exactly the aforementioned except pointing information technology to a Windows share and providing username/password.

Why?
CentOS or Ubuntu Server are much simpler, quicker to setup and have a far wider back up base should yous need help...
thumb_up thumb_down
And then the merely way to do it is either via a nfs or cifs share and connect the xenserver to that share
Esxi was lot more less hassle every bit y'all could simply upload iso files straight to the vm data store
Tin can yous do that in xen?
thumb_up thumb_down
You can add a repo. directly to the xenserver server, you don't demand a divide server for this. Read my initial answer
thumb_up thumb_down
mmm i followed the link, i did
mkdir -p /var/run/sr-mount/ISO_Store
xe sr-create name-label=LocalISO blazon=iso device-config:location=/var/run/sr-mount/ISO_Store
device-config:legacy_mode=truthful content-type=iso
i and then went back to my xencenter and i could run into the new local disk so success
i and then tried to copy via filezilla an iso to it, total of the iso was 4.4g but information technology failed later on 2gig
whatever reason for this
i attach my disk usage/xencenter screenshot
i dont get the df -h as i accept installed it on a 500gb Hard disk drive!
thumb_up thumb_down
To be sure, you typed in the correct mount path and not a literal "sr-mount" for the ISO directory, correct?
thumb_up thumb_down
From your ISO_Store directory run
pwd
thumb_up thumb_down
i have done a pwd on the iso store (see attachment))
but on the xencenter if i click on Local storage and desire to add a virtual disk i have 457 free disk space?
i really dont become it, so why does sda1 simply show iv gig when i practice a df -h (on first screenshot i attached)
thumb_up thumb_down
It looks as if you added the repo to your Dom0 (4GB) division and not the proper partition.
thumb_up thumb_down
Well i really dont understand that as the install process for xenserver i said install information technology on sda which is my hard disk drive and that is 500gb
thumb_up thumb_down
It creates a segmentation big enough for the Dom0 environment when you install to a drive that is to large.
You need to specify where you want your ISO directory to be outside of that 4GB partition.
thumb_up thumb_down
But why cant i utilise the 500gb HD for my iso repositrys, why do i need to create another nfs cifs server and connect xenserver to it
So theres no fashion of creating an iso shop on the xen server every bit i have tried but i cant equally it just can relieve iao files merely ii gig
Why cant i employ the whole 500gb
thumb_up thumb_down
No your are miss-understanding, you can utilise the 500gb drive but when you create the iso repo on the server you need to accept a folder named something like ISO_STORE which when you lot go to add the iso repo you specify that folder. But this folder tin can non be in the dome 4gb partition because information technology'due south a tiny partition
thumb_up thumb_down
No you're misunderstanding, you can but you need to make a directory outside of the dom0 4gb partition called something like ISO_STORE or whatever you lot want to proper name it. And then create the iso repo following the guide I've posted previously.
thumb_up thumb_down
Ok how do i change it from the dome 4gig and then it uses the 500gig instead
thumb_up thumb_down
Yous accept to observe the uuod of the raid array and jump into that directory, make the folder and then add the storage repo.

I tin can see the 500gb on the xen center as i can install vms on it its called the local storage and i tin specify how large hd i want a vm to have
Is there a manner to create an iso store on the local storage equally that is where my 500gb is
thumb_up thumb_down
I can run into the 500gb on the xen center equally i can install vms on it its called the local storage and i can specify how big hd i want a vm to accept
Is there a way to create an iso store on the local storage equally that is where my 500gb is
The is explained in the guide posted by DustinB3403 in a higher place. From the guide: "Unfortunately Domain 0 only has 4GB of storage allocated by default, this ISO as demonstrated above is 2.9G and will fail during the download process due to lack of infinite."
Read the department titled: "Function 2 - Creating a larger ISO library"

when i run an ls in /var/run i dont have an sr-mount dir?
thumb_up thumb_down
Gave upward trying to create an iso dir on my local disk as it wouldnt bear witness me the var run sr-mount with the uuid of my 500gig deejay
Instead i am using my windows cifs iso shop on my pc so all is good
Foreign thing is now i have created a vm from my cifs iso store information technology has at present created the dir sr-mount and the uuid of my vm
Thanks guys

Well I'chiliad glad y'all got a work around, but I had no issues at all following the guide I posted.
Below I'm on a Software RAID Array, and take a folder named LocalISO with a bootable ISO on it.
thumb_up thumb_down
i used foxit for everything
in foxit, it has an option "PDF Sign" and information technology automatically makes the signature transparent
